Ariana Grande's R.E.M. Beauty Brand is here!
As one of the biggest stars in the world, Ariana Grande is a jack of all trades. From her super-successful music career and recent gig as a Coach on NBC's The Voice to landing a role in Netflix's upcoming film, Don't Look Up, Ari is a woman of many talents. So, it comes as no surprise that she's adding a beauty line to her already impressive resume.
Yep, you read that right. Ariana may be following in the footsteps of celebs like Rihanna, Selena Gomez, and Lady Gaga by launching her own beauty line. Plus, she already has a best-selling line of fragrances like Ari by Ariana Grande, Moonlight, Cloud, R.E.M., and God Is A Woman, so it's highly likely that she wants to expand in the beauty space with more products.
Fans were in a frenzy once they discovered a mysterious new Instagram account and website for a brand called R.E.M. Beauty. Aside from the name being a nod to her 2018 song "R.E.M." it's likely that the brand is tied to Ariana because her mom, Joan Grande, follows the Instagram account.
After being in the works with Forma Brands for two years, Ariana revealed that R.E.M. will release products in "drops," as a streetwear fashion brand would. The first drop centers around the eyes, which Ari describes as "main storytellers and sources of communication."
"I feel like you can emote more with your eyes than you can articulate sometimes," the Sweetener hitmaker explained. Eye products that she plans on dropping include fine-point eyeliner markers, matte liquid eye shadows, glittering eyeshadow toppers, and mascara.

Ari also dished that there will be a lip product drop at some point, including buttery lipsticks and Lip Venom, a.k.a plumping glosses that tingle upon application. After all, she did say her gloss was poppin' in "7 Rings." Fans can also expect a highlighter drop in the future as Ariana opened up about how hard it was to keep R.E.M. a secret.
"Coveting the secret for the past two years and having testers and samplers in my purse, and people asking me, 'Oh, I love your highlight, what are you wearing?' And me being like, 'I don’t know', sweating,'" the singer-turned-beauty mogul told Allure.
E! News also reported that the r.e.m. trademark on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website listed products that may launch with the brand. Products ranged from concealers, lash serum, eyeshadow, eyeliners, lipstick, highlighter, hair extensions and makeup sponges. Since Ari is known for her iconic ponytail, it makes total sense that hair extensions would be part of R.E.M. beauty.
